Pass the Balloons

Monday, March 24th, 2008 by admin

022.jpg

Make two circles and each group will pass black and orange balloons from player to player. The only catch is that before you bat the balloon coming to you have to speak out any word based on the given theme or you have to start all over again. The group that can keep the balloon in air for longest time wins. The themes you can use could be Halloween related words, names and kinds of monsters and spooky creatures, kinds of Halloween treats, types of insects and other such things. You can time it using ghoulish music and guests have to pass the balloon until music stops. Choose the Halloween music carefully for the effect.

When the ghoulish music stops suddenly, the person who has the balloon is asked to do something. ‘It’ can be given dares to perform, such as streaking down the road or climbing up the attic and act like a lighthouse. They may be asked to act like Frankeistein or the zombies or act like a vampire and seduce a lady of the party with his hypnotic powers. They may be asked to choose between ‘Truth or Dare’. If they choose ‘Truth’, they have to answer any question that they might be asked truthfully, including the name of their latest love interest and what was the last thing they said to their wife last night. Halloween games can be wicked sometimes.

Mummy Wrap Halloween Game

Monday, March 24th, 2008 by admin

halloween-crafts6.jpg

It is a simple game. Divide the guests in pairs and give two rolls of toilet paper to each pair. The guests have to wrap each other using the toilet paper, just like a mummy. The people who do it at the earliest win. The trick is not to wrap the hands of the first paper while wrapping them up as a mummy and leave place for their eyes, noses and mouth. It can be quite a mess as they realize that they have wrapped their partner’s hands, so he or she is not free to wrap them up. Once all the mummies are ready, they can move on to the next level of the game, where they have to walk and moan and groan like a mummy as they try to find their Halloween candy.

You can make a maze using toilet paper in the room or the backyard. Mummy pairs have to make sure that toilet paper doesn’t get torn as they search for their candy. If the toilet paper gets torn, then that mummy is out and turns evil. Put some tomato ketchup on the mummy to look like blood to mark the ‘evil mummy’ and give them a gun with tomato ketchup to shoot. The evil mummy will turn any mummy they find ‘evil’ by smearing some blood (tomato ketchup) on them. Now the other mummies have to find the Halloween candy hidden somewhere in the maze, before they run into evil mummies and are turned ‘evil’ by them. Any mummy who finds the candy before turning ‘evil’ will win or the last mummy left pure will be declared the winner.

Ghost Hunters Halloween Game

Tweens and teenagers love the adventure of being a ghost hunter. You can make the game as scary and challenging as you want, according to the age of the children or your guests. For smaller children, stick to indoors ghost hunting. You may or may not include the backyard, depending on high safe it is for the children. However, older children can wander off outdoors with an adult guide to search for ghosts in the nearby fields, farms or other ‘haunted mansions’ for the day on the street. Ghosts can be lollipops, covered with a tissue paper for the drapery on which eyes and mouth are marked using a marker. A ribbon is tied just below the head to mark the neck of the ghost. You may also buy fake skeletons or make interesting Halloween crafts of ghosts and monsters of any desired shape and size.

Divide kids in teams and give them clues such as - ‘I haunt the room of Mrs Wilson’, ‘I come out from under the bed of Christine at midnight’ or ‘I love to peek through the keyhole of the bathroom door’. Keep the ghosts or hang them with a string for the kids to find. One team member has to stay with the ghost they have found while others go off to locate other ghosts. You can assign different areas to each team - Kitchen to Team A, Bedroom for Team B and so on. This will ensure that each team member finds one ghost at least. The team that finds all the ghosts and reports at the earliest is the winner. The team member can take their ghosts along with them as party favors. The clues can be more difficult for older children and the places where the ghosts are hidden can be made to look scarier such as a cemetery or a haunted garage and sound and light effects can be added for the experience to feel more real.

If they glide apart, it means separation for the owners of the boats. Sometimes candles seem to huddle together as a close-knit family while one or two will be left alone to represent loneliness and solitude. The candle that goes out first is said to indicate that its owner would remain a spinster or a bachelor.

This fortune game is not only interesting and keeps the youths interested at least as long as the candles last but also add to the Halloween aura. The party venue with creepy decorations looks even scarier in flickering candlelights as walnut candle boats float around water. Fortune telling using a deck of playing cards or tarot cards is increasingly becoming a favored time-pass among youths. Halloween party with the host and hostess dressed as a wizard and a witch and telling fortunes of their guests wing tarot cards or playing cards is sure to be a hit. You can also dress up like a gypsy and have a crystal ball on the table for added effect. Keep the lights dim and focus the desk lamp on the cards. If you are doing this for the first time, you will need a Tarot Card book or a fortuneteller book for playing cards to assist you in interpreting the cards. There are two ways to make predictions using the cards.

Ask the person to shuffle the cards well, while thinking up and concentrating on a question. After they have shuffled enough, take the cards from his or hands and fan them out, so that the person can choose a card from them. Open the book and see what the card they have drawn means. Another simple way is the three-card spread. Here, the person has to think of a question and focus on it while they shuffle the cards and cut the deck twice to make three piles. Then, ask them to choose one of the piles, and keep it on the top of other piles. Deal 3 cards from the topmost pile. The first card to the left reflects the past of the person; the card in the middle reflects the present while the card on the right reflects the future. Interpret the cards and reveal the past, present and future of the person.
