LG Philips brings barrage of new multi-touch displays for public places

LG Philips is all set to exhibit world’s largest displays with multi-touch capability next week at CES 2008. The flagship multi-touch display is an 84-inch model created by conjoining four 42-inch panels in a two-by-two array. The display touts full HD 1920 x 1080 resolution, an Omni-directional 180-degree viewing angle and impressive 500 cd/m2 of brightness. The 52-inch multi-touch screen has a full scale HD resolution of 1980×1080 and it makes use of an infrared image sensor to register and recognize inputs from fingers or pointers. It also boast’s industry’s highest specification of 90 Hz touch response time and a light transmission rate of 95 to 100 percent. Other than these two monstrous multi-touch display, LG Philips will also showcase 47 inch triple view LCD, 47-inch double-sided LCD and 42-inch transflective display. All the displays have been designed for specific commercial purposes.
