Pakistan Election 2008 Results for PML-Q
Divisiveness of politics has remained the hallmark of Pakistani politics, whenever the elections have been allowed to happen. Election 2008 in Pakistan are bereft of the traditional dissentious opinion between Benazir’s Party and the Nawaz Sharif’s party. As the foes of yesterday have become the friends of today, thanks to the political maturity of Nawaz Sharif, which he showed after the grotesque and ghastly assassination of two-time Prime Minister of Pakistan, Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto.
Though, the symbol of sympathy, Chaudhary Pervaiz Elhai is throwing away loads of money, effort and time to emerge as the true opponent of PPP, and is trying to brush aside Nawaz Sharif by posing that the real competition is between PPP and PML-Q, while Nawaz Sharif is clueless about the whole thing. Pervaiz Elahi, for the relief of PML-N, shoots off statements against Nawaz Sharif by saying that Nawaz Sharif’s following the path of Benazir Bhutto.
As the common worker of PPP, who is morose and gloomy over the death of their leader, aren’t warmed to the idea of Zardari leading the party, but at the same time they want to defeat the callous Chaudharies, so their votes are likely to go to PML-N, who itself has a huge vote bank, especially in Punjab and NWFP. Sindh is more than ever belongs to PPP now, with Karachi to spare for MQM.
The chaudharies have dug a huge grave for themselves with their blood-sucking performances of yesteryears, and by their “lota-geery”, and by their continuous support for dictatorship, and by the spate of crisis including shortage of things like sugar, flour, vegetables, power, gas, CNG, and law and order. Now they are cementing their grave by a very derogatory and silly election campaign.
Even rigging cannot save them from an ignominious defeat now.
