Sphereoid Projection Clock

Don’t blame us for the arresting beauty and functional brilliance of the Sphereoid Projection Clock. Blame that Italian chap, Stefano Giovannoni. For not only is he one of the world’s leading contemporary designers, he knows a thing or two about timekeeping, to boot. Simply place the daringly designed black orb on its base unit, whereupon it will draw a current and charge itself. Then simply remove and position at will for brilliant illumination of the time on almost any surface. Meanwhile, the touch-sensitive base unit continues to function independently, continuously displaying the correct time or indoor temperature (and controlling the alarm functionality) with red backlit exuberance. Simply adjust a setting by touching the touch-screen. Sounds easy. And it is.

So it looks like a planetarium-sized projection device. Yes. But it doesn’t actually project the planets or stars. No. But it does project the correct time, wirelessly adjusted without human intervention. It does intend to wake you up in the morning with not just one but two daily alarms. It does possess a light sensor, dimming or brightening the display to suit one’s surroundings. And it does look, as the young people put it, the business.
