2010 Chevrolet Camaro priced: LS $22,995, SS $30,995

General Motors has finally announced pricing for the 2010 Chevrolet Camaro, both in V6-equipped LS trim and the V8-powered SS model. The sticker for the LS will start at $22,995, while the SS commands $30,995. Both prices include the $750 destination charge and you can officially order yours today, October 13th.

Production begins mid-February at GM’s Oshawa, Ontario facility and dealerships should begin taking deliveries soon afterwards.

Both LS and LT models will come equipped with the 3.6-liter V6, putting out 300 hp and 273 lb.-ft. of torque and sending power to a Hydra-Matic 6L50 six-speed automatic gearbox equipped with TAPshift control. Buyers who opt for the big-boy SS equipped with the six-speed TR6060 manual transmission get to play with 422 hp and 408 lb.-ft. of torque courtesy of the 6.2-liter LS3 V8, while six-speed automatic buyers will have to make do the 400 hp and 395 lb.-ft. of twist culled from the L99 V8.

All models benefit from a 4.5-link independent rear suspension, four wheel disc brakes (Brembos on the SS), StabiliTrak traction control, 18-, 19- or 20-inch wheels, RS appearance package (available on the LT and SS), which includes HID headlamps with “halo” rings, spoiler, restyled taillamps and 20-inch wheels. Bluetooth, remote start, USB connectivity, OnStar and XM Satellite Radio are all available, and ten colors are available on all models.

2010 Camaro ordering book leaked online

In just a week’s time, anyone so willing will be able to walk into a Chevrolet dealership and order a new 2010 Chevy Camaro. We now have the ordering information that will greet buyers on that blessed day. Thanks to CamaroZ28.com, we have the complete order book that shows standard and optional equipment for LS, LT and SS versions of the car with codes 1LS, 1LT, 2LT, 1SS and 2SS. Basically, the LT won’t get the fog lamps of its racier brethren, and only the SS versions get the 6.2L V8, the 20-inch wheel/tire combo, the 4-piston Brembos, and unique instrumentation and fascias. The rear spoiler is standard on the SS but optional on the LT. If you opt for either the 2LT or 2SS you also get a package of amenities that includes leather, an upgraded stereo with redundant steering wheel controls, Bluetooth, a USB port, PDIM, a cargo net, and an upgrade to the mirrors and gauges, but buyers of the 1LT and 1SS can get some of these as options. The complete book is laid out in the gallery below.

While LS buyers can only select black or gray for their interiors, LT and SS buyers can opt for beige or Inferno Orange as well, with or without gray or white striping. The sunroof and RS appearance package are available on all but the base LS, as is a special Red Jewel Tintcoat. That RS package also includes special 20-inch aluminum wheels, HIDs, body-color “ditch” molding, unique taillamps and badging, and the rear spoiler. Check out the pages below for more specifics, but make sure to check out the pages about the accessories as well: a Hurst shifter, 21-inch wheels, high wing spoiler, ground effects, special striping and engine covers, and a performance section that includes a catback exhaust, air intake and “shorty” headers. We’ll take an Inferno/black 1SS with the performance accessories, RS package, ground effects, high wing, the Hurst shifter and white stripes. More news on the 2010 Chevy Camaro has been revealed after the Camaro SS made its live debut at Indy Bash 2008. According to this thread on the Camaro5.com forums, dealers will begin taking orders for Chevy’s new sportscar on October 13th, though pricing may still not be available at that time. Also revealed are a list of performance and appearance accessories that includes a rear spoiler, rear diffuser, ground effects package, many different kinds of stripes, different engines covers for both the V6 and V8 models and performance parts like a cold air intake, catback exhaust, shorty headers and Hurst short throw shifter. Interior accessories include the obligatory carbon trim kit, a body-colored lighted trim kit, floormats and a nostalgic looking subwoofer, while a selection of chrome and painted wheels will also be offered. We’ve had the very competent current model since Fall 2004, while any competition continues to be stuck in future-tense. Even without any direct competition, Ford has stayed on top of its RWD V8 American icon, and the 2+2 pony car is still the stuff of dreams. The marketing geeks at Ford picked up on the phenomenon, and the result is a :30 spot with some lucky Joe performing power slides and donuts in a red Mustang GT while the fuzz give him the thumbs-up. Ford added a hot brunette driving a Mustang convertible for good measure, and you’ve got the ideal REM of many-a-man. Check out the spot after the jump.
