Never one to miss an opportunity to trot out yet another luxury handset, Mobiado has now taken the wraps off its new Camo candybar phone, which apparently adds some ruggedness to Mobiado’s usual excess. That comes in the form of anodized aluminum shell and stainless steel buttons (not to mention some added thickness), plus a hand-painted camouflage design that at least makes it seem rugged. Otherwise, the phone is a pretty standard tri-band GSM number, with it boasting a 1.3-megapixel camera, a 208 x 208 pixel display of unspecified size, an MMC card slot, and built-in Bluetooth, to name a few features. No word on a price or release date just yet, but it’s limited to a mere 200 units, so you can probably draw your own conclusions.

Forbes comes up with top-ten most expensive luxury cars to repair

Forbes, Luxury, Vehicle Repair, VehicleRepair

Buying a luxury car or SUV is the dream of many readers, and while a BMW or Mercedes will buy you some instant street-cred, they’ll also cost you an arm and a leg if it ever needs fixing. A repair that may be no big deal for a Chevy Cobalt can cost much more in a luxury vehicle due to high-tech gadgets and more expensive materials. Forbes put together lists of the ten most expensive to repair luxury and non-luxury vehicles over a five year period.

The most costly vehicle to fix overall was the Dodge Viper, which came in at $1,641, and the most expensive luxury vehicle was the Audi A8 at $1,640. On the luxury list, every vehicle came from Europe, with zero entries from Detroit or Japan. The story was much different for the non-luxury vehicles, with heavy-duty trucks and SUVs making up the lion’s share of the list. The Subaru Impreza and Mini Cooper were the only imports to make Forbes’ dubious top ten. Hit the jump to view the most expensive luxury cars to repair, and click on the link below to view the priciest non-luxury list.

Omnipotence’s “Micky” with free trademark infringement

We don’t really know the back story on China’s “Omnipotence” brand, but seeing how it’s apparently going after the luxury phone segment with a vaguely Vertu-esque logo and resides in a country with a particularly freewheeling attitude toward patent and trademark law, we’re already a bit skeptical about the legitimacy of the licensing agreements (or lack thereof) that led to the phone’s Disney and BMW (yes, BMW) branding. Nonetheless, there’ll only be 130 of the 10 millimeter thick candybars produced, each bearing Disney-themed software goodies (never mind the company’s misspelling of “Mickey”) and a dubious “Design by BMW in Munich” inscription on the back — so get yours while the gettin’s good. Features include a 1.3 megapixel cam, Bluetooth 2.0, microSD expansion, touch sensitive nav buttons, and some sort of alleged certificate of authenticity from BMW. One point three frickin’ megapixels, though? In a so-called luxury phone?

Vertu throws its own party with Constellation Rococo collection

You know how it goes — when you’re this high-end, don’t even bother waiting for your bestest of friends to toss you a birthday party to celebrate ten years of mindless self indulgence. Instead, Vertu’s doing the only thing it really can by cranking out a fashionable new collection to commemorate its decennial anniversary. The Constellation Rococo collection was reportedly inspired by “the eighteenth century French art, fashion and interior design movement by the same name,” and if you’re into floral patterns, bold colors and monogrammed Vs, you’re sure to fall head over heels for this lot. Rest assured, however, that the epicurean handset maker won’t be giving these away as gifts (or anything close to it) when they land this summer.
