Adding to the ever-growing list of “cool stuff Japan gets that we don’t,” Bandai Namco is offering a sweet preorder bonus with Tales of Symphonia. The RPG, which releases in Japan in late June, will come with a Dramatic DVD for gamers that preorder the title. The DVD will include original animated scenes that add to the game’s story, which sounds like a pretty nice extra to us.

We’re sure the DVD will never see the light of day outside of Japan (officially), so the rest of us will just have to be content to look at screens and pretend that’s dramatic. Some new screens might help you with such a task, so just click on the “Read” link below (or the picture above) to check them out.

In order to entice customers into picking up the new sequel to last year’s brawling pseudo-rhythm game Custom Beat Battle Draglade, publisher Namco Bandai has decided to offer a bonus that makes it seem even more like a rhythm game: free headphones.

Japanese gamers who preorder Draglade 2 will receive, along with the game, a pair of over-the ear “Super Beat Headphones” just like the ones worn in the game by the new protagonist, Shibuya Goku Raio. The bonus will be available in limited quantities, though Draglade is a fairly niche game anyway.

If you manage to get a set of these through an importer, you can pretend you’re in a critically-acclaimed but low-selling action game while you listen to our Muxtape!

Nearly 700 Brits plunked down pre-order deposits of £3,500 (about $7,000) within the first 48 hours of Nissan’s hot GT-R going on sale, proving demand for the latest Japanese supercar doesn’t seem to be diminishing. Customers in the UK don’t seem to be deterred by the GT-R’s base sales price of £52,900 (about $105,000), or the fact they won’t see delivery until March 2009. After our “First Drive” in the GT-R, you won’t see us ridiculing frenzied buyers…Source: Nissan UK
