The establishment has now introduced its YA-SBR510 for the duration of in South Korea, that streams audio out of BT-enabled players and includes a 3.5-millimeter auxiliary jack for hooking up easily virtually anything and everything else. A tad expensive at €150 ($222), but it is a whole understanding serves to it appear bundled in on the current oh-so-furry rug. Sammy, service to comment?

Sammy already gave us a heads-up that its Touch of Color LCD HDTVs would be widely available in May, and although it has issued no separate release to inform Earthlings that these things are available for purchase, here’s the notice you’ve been dying to receive. As of right now, both the 650- and 750-series sets are in stock and available to procure from a wide variety of resellers, and if you’re curious as to whether or not either family is worth your time, you can get a hint from our review of the LN52A650 right here.

Samsung NV40 point-and-shoot gets reviewed

Thursday, May 8th, 2008 by admin

Don’t sweat it, we’re not going to quiz you on the specs from Samsung’s NV40 — after all, this puppy was introduced way back in January of the year 2008 .Nevertheless, the 10-megapixel shooter has finally arrived at PhotographyBLOG’s labs for review, so let’s dive right in. Simply put, the NV40 isn’t a revolutionary step above the NV20, though that wasn’t seen as necessarily bad. It was noted that the image stabilization worked quite well, but captures were still noticeably noisy even at ISO 200. The unit itself felt like a premium product, and the Smart Touch interface was highly praised, but reviewers just couldn’t find a way to stomach the £199 ($385) price tag with such disappointing image results. Check out the full review for yourself before passing judgment, but it sounds like Sammy just barely missed the mark with this one.

The Helio Heat

QWERTY fans need not apply — your phone hasn’t quite hit yet — but folks in search of a slick-lookin’ little slider on Helio have another solid choice. Just like its big sib, the Drift, the Heat comes to Helio courtesy of Samsung, but gains touch-sensitive controls and a lower price point. The new model serves up Bluetooth, 136MB of internal memory (though no external — advantage Drift), 1.3 megapixel cam, Helio Music compatibility, and the full suite of GPS goodies including Google Maps and Helio’s “Buddy Beacon” service atop a 2-inch QVGA display.

Look for the Heat to go on sale today for $150 in your choice of Gold and the always-fashionable “Onyx” (alias “black”). Follow the break for a shot of the Heat doing its slide thing in both shades!

Samsung’s SPH-W2500 slider with HSDPA

We’re noticing a trend — anyone think this thing looks like a healthy portion of the sliders Samsung has loosed in recent history? Sure, 13.8 millimeters is nice for a slider and all, but it’s by no means groundbreaking; same goes for the 2 megapixel primary and VGA front-facing cameras, microSD slot, and media support. That being said, we’re hard-pressed to dis any 3G phone that’s managed to make it all the way to the FCC’s hallowed halls, so we’re going to cut the criticism right here and cross our fingers for an expedient arrival on US shores.

Samsung gears up to ship 46-inch “High Bright” panel

Interestingly enough, the last time we heard the phrase “High Bright,” Runco was showcasing a prototype set meant to work and play in the great outdoors. Now, however, Samsung’s looking to one-up that endeavor by actually shipping a High Bright DID panel later this month. The 46-inch unit is said to posses 1,500 nits of brightness, a contrast ratio of 3,000:1, 16.7 million colors, 178-degree viewing angles and a screen resolution of 1,366 x 768 pixels. Sammy claims that it’s around three times brighter than a typical LCD TV, and aside from remaining visible outside (you know, for pool parties and digital signage applications), it was designed to be tiled together to create “video walls.” No word on what sets these panels will find their way into, but we wouldn’t count on ‘em coming cheap.

Verizon launches the Samsung Glyde

One of the worst-kept secrets in Verizon’s stable is finally getting official today; that’s right, ladies and gentlemen, meet the Glyde from Samsung. Wearing CDMA guts underneath its F700 clothing, the fashion-friendly QWERTY slider offers a 2 megapixel cam with flash and autofocus, GPS, the full range of Bluetooth profiles, microSD slot, and a true HTML browser. Unlike its crosstown competition — the LG Voyager — the Glyde doesn’t offer support for Verizon’s VCAST TV service, but we imagine most folks will consider that a minor (read: nonexistent) inconvenience. Look for the phone to start circulating into retail channels this week for a princely $249.99 on contract after $50 rebate. Have a quick gander over on Engadget Mobile for a few shots of the Glyde doing what the Glyde does best — posing for press photography, that is.

Survey gives more Google phone clues?

Wednesday, May 7th, 2008 by admin

google, googlephone, samsung, switch

Yes, this would be pretty easy to fake — and even if it’s real, it’s just a survey, which means it’s sorta fake by design — but a questionnaire allegedly received by a Mobileburn forum member hints at specs and a rather fascinating concept design for Google’s probably-in-the-works cellphone. Everything seems believable enough, though it seems like they flip-open QWERTY keypad could be a bit tricky to access from the right side thanks to the permanently-affixed nav buttons; features are said to include 3G data, WiFi, and a 2 megapixel camera, not to mention a rather striking Samsung-penned chassis. Typical test-marketing survey mumbo jumbo suggests that the phone would offer “all the exciting Google services from the PC” and — thanks largely to targeted advertising — affordable (as it’s been suggested) flat-rate data service and a three-month trial. Could it be that Apple’s going to see a legitimate competitor in the “pretty, giant-screened cellphone with tight Google integration” market right out of the gate (and with 3G, no less)?

Samsung SpinPoint M6 500GB laptop drive finally on sale… in France

Wednesday, May 7th, 2008 by admin

500gb, m6, samsung, spinpoint, spinpoint m6, SpinpointM6

We’ve been wondering where Samsung’s 9.5mm 500GB SpinPoint M6 laptop drive has been hiding, and it turns out that it’s just been vacationing in France. No word on when these might make it Stateside, but if you’re desperate (or French), your lappy can unbuckle that belt another notch or two for just €197 ($306).

Telus adds Samsung u510, white Motorola KRZR

Tuesday, May 6th, 2008 by admin

canada, clamshell, flip, k1m, krzr, moto, motokrzr, motorola, samsung, sch-u510, slider, telus, u510

We feel like we can barely tell the difference between the white KRZR from Moto and the original gray — especially if you squint your eyes a bit — but choice is always good nonetheless, and to that end Telus has added the paler variant to its lineup. Going toe to toe with the K1m in the high-fashion game, Samsung’s u510 has also found its way onto the CDMA carrier (look familiar?) with a 220 x 176 display, 1.3 megapixel cam, microSD slot — something its Helio doppelganger lacks — and touch-sensitive controls. Grab your white KRZR for the same price as its grayer counterpart, $149 CDN — or a u510 for $50 CDN less, $100, both on a three-year agreement.

[Thanks, Jay]
