Vodafone impending the Touch Pro to touch decreased in the UK their month, and guaranteed enough, argued expectation has become a reality. HTC’s mighty WinMo-powered smartphone is now to be had based on what i read in official UK distributor devicewire, and if you just recently so transpire to use pounds as your number one currency, you can contend one of your own for the eye-popping worth of £514.99 (including VAT). We will not bother converting the to bucks — faith us, you are bigger off pretending you do not know.

As of right now, both the 650- and 750-series sets are in stock and available to procure from a wide variety of resellers, and if you’re curious as to whether or not either family is worth your time, you can get a hint from our review of the LN52A650 right here.

InPhase to finally ship Tapestry 300r holographic storage solution in May

Talk about escaping the label of vaporware by this much. We’ve been hearing that holographic storage was right around the bend from InPhase for well over three years now, but it has finally managed to get its ducks in a row and should start shipping the unicorn-like Tapestry 300r next month. The firm had a demonstrative version on display at NAB Show earlier this month, and apparently real live working units will be making their way out to archival junkies in just weeks. Granted, it will demand a whopping $18,000 to get a shipping label made with your address on it, and each piece of 300GB media is $180 — but hey, that’s the price you pay these days to know that you’ll decompose before your data degrades.

The real price of that imported kiwi

Environment, Imported Food, Local Eating, Shipping

Interesting article in the New York Times this morning, about a subject we’ve all been hearing about a lot: the environmental effects of global food shipping. Not only are we eating food imported from far away places when it’s unavailable or not in season here, but we’re actually shipping lemons from Argentina to the citrus-rich south of Spain, sending Norwegian cod to China to be made into fillets and shipped back to Norway again. And we’re starting to pay the cost in terms of global warming from the carbon emissions from all that shipping.

So maybe it’s time to pay the financial cost as well, some economists say, in the form of taxes and carbon offsets for shippers and shoppers alike. While neither airplanes or ocean freighters are currently taxed for fuel used for international travel and transport of good, many people think it’s time to end these tax breaks.

Well, that doesn’t sound like a bad plan to me, but the question of imported foods and carbon emissions still present a conundrum for those of us who really love to eat (I don’t know about you, but I’m not interested in any 100-mile diet that doesn’t involve chocolate or coffee) and care about the environment. How do you green foodies out there deal with this issue?

Limited edition Bronze PSP now on sale, likely to remain that way

Friday, April 25th, 2008 by admin

bronze, limited edition, LimitedEdition, matte bronze psp, MatteBronzePsp, on sale, OnSale, psp, psp slim, PspSlim, sale, shipping, sony, special edition, SpecialEdition

We’re still trying to piece together why in the world Sony would choose matte bronze as the color for its latest PSP Slim, but now that it’s out, we’re focusing our attention on just how long it takes these so-called limited edition units to actually sell out. The Value Pack it comes bundled in includes a Japanese version of the handheld, 32MB memory stick, cleaning cloth, a case, AC adapter, battery pack and an AV cable for good measure — unfortunately, a can of black spray paint actually isn’t in the box. A last minute exclusion due to shipping regulations, we’re sure. Grab one if you’re into it for $278.97.

Monster’s iSoniCast wireless iPod bridge finally starts shipping

Saturday, March 22nd, 2008 by admin

Monster’s ,iSoniCast, wireless, iPod, bridge, finally, starts, shipping

Monster first started talking this one up way back in August of last year, but the company just now seems to have gotten its act together, with it finally starting to ship its iPod Wireless Audio Bridge out the door. Now dubbed the iSoniCast, the device relies on “proprietary 2.5GHz technology” to wirelessly stream music from your iPod to the home audio system of your choice and, like many other similar products, includes a dock conncetor-attached transmitter to let you use the iPod itself as a wireless remote. As you can see above, the device has also gotten a bit of a facelift since its initial debut, but it’s hung onto the same price tag, with it setting you back $100 even.
