EuroDNS launches improved version of its Website

Monday, April 14th, 2008 by admin

Tuesday, March 18th – After extensive beta-testing, EuroDNS launches its 2.0 website with a wealth of new features and improved services. Thought from the ground up to facilitate Domain Name Registrations even more, the site provides enhanced ergonomy with an attractive look and feel.

With version 2.0 of its flagship Website, EuroDNS offers an even better interface to register Domain Names; the “address” used to access and recognizes a particular website on the Internet. Thanks to the new version, less than three seconds are now needed to find out whether a required name is available for registration and secure it in more than 50 domain extensions (.Com, .Asia, .EU, .Fr…). After having spent five months analyzing its key customers’ feedback and suggestions, EuroDNS is therefore proud to present the innovations of its website, all designed to allow even easier domain names Registrations both for individual customers – at a time where studies show more and more people registering domain names – and professional investors, since according to RBC Capital Markets, generated advertising revenues exceeded USD 1 billion in 2007.
Gregory Lonak, EuroDNS CTO, details: “The entire website content has been improved, allowing customers to make a more informed choice when they register names. The navigation itself is a lot more intuitive and our tests show we have jumped ahead in user-friendliness. Thinking of our growing international customer base, we have also made available the domain management in the following languages: English, French, German, Spanish, Polish, Dutch and Italian, while more languages will also be added in the coming weeks”.

To check the domain name availability, Eurodns provides several new tools including a bulk domain name search and the ability to restrict a search on any given extension or top level domain.

Also added in version 2.0 is the ability for customers to filter their domain with their own criteria and then proceed to bulk operation, such as applying a DNS record profile. The concept of “Folders”, in which customers can classify their domains, should also appeal to companies and law firms running large domain name portfolios. The folders work via a drag and drop system, and specific access rights can be granted individually to ensure maximum productivity while maintaining constant control.

Lonak adds, “We really took advantage of a lot of features ‘Web 2.0’ has to offer, including RSS Feeds, but the list of features we have developed and improved for the new EuroDNS website is too long to quote, I would suggest our customers to give it a try themselves!”.

To the credit of its new interface – then in beta! – is the title of “top registrar” awarded to EuroDNS by DotAsia Organisation for having submitted the most .Asia applications during the Landrush Phase (see here).

This addition should boost even more EuroDNS’ track record: in less than six years, the company has become one of the top European Registrars with a steady growth in domain names’ registrations and one of the biggest portfolios of domain names under management, a success due in part to its highly successful “one-stop-shop” strategy which allows customers to consolidate their portfolio both in Europe (.EU, .FR…) Asia (.KR, .CN) and worldwide (.Com, .Mobi…) under one roof. EuroDNS’ excellent relations with Domain Name Registries and the ease-of-use of its interface have also helped form close ties to the Domain investors’ community.

The new EuroDNS website fully optimizes domain names’ registrations and offers customers an ideal a platform to manage their domains names, whatever the extension.

Gibson intros SG Robot Guitar, new edition of Les Paul version

Monday, April 14th, 2008 by admin

robot_guitars.jpg

Last time we saw the Gibson Robot Guitar it was in the hands of Yngwie Malmsteen, who was laying down gorgeous, undulating waves of pure classical-metal fever. The first version of the self-tuning Les Paul was a rather limited edition, but now Gibson is sharing the wealth by introducing two more widely available models. The guitar-maker will issue the original iteration of the axe, but it will now be joined by Gibson’s other familiar face, the SG. Both models will apparently be available in a funky, purple-metallic finish (which we suspect only Prince could truly love), and will go on sale for a “limited time” — though Gibson hasn’t said what the cutoff will be. So, if you’ve got $3,999 for the Les Paul, or $3,599 for the SG, now might be the time to buy.

Sony’s do-everything-except-for-make-calls mylo has been updated to firmware version 1.100, and is now available at Sony’s support site as a 61MB download. Because you ran out of things to do with your mylo about, say, ten minutes after unboxing it, rejoice — the update adds WMV file support, SHOUTcast widget support (the widget is a separate download), a “Game” item on the HOME menu for easier access to all those games you downloaded to the COM-2 unit, and, of course, improved “system stability”.
