Camo-less Panamera has Seoul, caught in Korea

Thursday, October 16th, 2008 by admin

The Panamera is doing development time in Seoul, South Korea. In a city where it seems everyone has a cell phone camera, it’s no wonder that someone caught it on film. This time it appears to be wearing nothing more than a blue paint job and some pre-production panel gaps while filling up at a gas station. We know our opinion has swung on this car - first we didn’t like it, and then we kinda did - but for now we’re holding steady. It still looks better from the front than the rear, but this car is going to sell. Follow the jump to watch the video, and to our South Korean readers, there is a blue intruder among you, so please get him on video again and report to us… Thanks for the tip, Gabriel!

VIDEO: Big truck… go fast… up hill

Monday, October 13th, 2008 by admin

For as clean and green and Earth-loving as the Europeans are, they sure do some dirty things… like throw a sooty-exhaust-belching racing semi around hairpin turns with loads of opposite lock – up an impossibly green mountain – just for a hillclimb. But hey, trucks and racing aren’t illegal yet, so we say flog ‘em while ya got ‘em. Check out the video of Markus Boesiger, 2007’s Truck Racing Champion, and his dashing diesel after the jump.

VIDEO: Transporter 3 trailer #2 shows more Audi A8 co-star

Monday, October 13th, 2008 by admin

Lionsgate has released the second trailer showcasing that buff delivery guy with the English accent, and if you thought Transporter 2 was an all-out sprint on the ludicrous side, wait until you get a load of the stunts in Transporter 3. It not only shows off more of Statham’s body and his 1-liner prowess, it also shows off more bad dialogue, more absurd stunts, and more reasons why it’s Crank but with a bracelet and an Audi. It will clearly be a movie where you put your brain down in the seat next to you and then load up on greasy popcorn and root beer with wide-eyed glee. But that doesn’t mean we won’t see it. Check out the trailer after the jump, and mark your calendars for November 26.

Been experiencing a hardy tad figuring out clearly how CERN’s Large Hadron Collider does? Worried such a it is planning to initiate a Möbius strip (a rip in the fabric of space at which opportunity gets a loop)? Just sttink to jam? Watch that CERN-sponsored rap once the break, and own your sector fully destroyed. Er, but not for real.

Emergency Party Button turns cribs to clubs in seconds flat

Not to be confused with the absolutely worthless (sorry, the truth hurts) Big Red Button of Doom, the Emergency Party Button has a very specific purpose. Designed to take a vanilla home from mundane to spectacular in just seconds, this connected trigger basically flips a boring crib into a bumpin’ club whenever you see fit. Just to give you an idea of what goes down when you mash the button, you’ll see hallway lights turn off, blinds close, a fog machine come alive, speakers crank up and loads of laser lights turn active. All told, the project cost the builder just north of $600, which seems like a real bargain given what you get. Jump on past the break to have a look on video.

Pleo gets thoroughly obliterated by demented ComBot

Thursday, May 8th, 2008 by admin

Combot, destroyed, pleo, splayed, ugobe, video

It’s not that we’ve never seen the insides of Pleo, it’s that we’ve never seen it splayed so inhumanely. During Maker Faire 2008, a middleweight ComBot known as Vicious Verdict was placed in the ring with UGOBE’s cuddly dinosaur, and suffice it to say, Pleo didn’t stand a chance. The entire death lasts about three minutes, but there’s a solid minute of taunting that goes on before the ComBot starts the decimation process. Straight up, this is one of the more haunting things we’ve ever seen happen to a poor, helpless, animated robot. Vid’s after the break for your sickos who dare.

Never mind getting tesla coils to fix your supper, just hit the on switch on your own personal humanoid. Reportedly, the creature you see above has been loaded with learning algorithms that enable it to repeat actions that it learns. Wonder if anyone realized that this totally demented critter just learned to slice more than ham? Stay sharp, kids — the video’s after the break.

Tesla coils seen wowing onlookers, cooking hot dogs

Believe it or not, tesla coils are good for more than just creating lighting, protecting one’s laptop or cranking out a sweet tune — and the folks watching a dazzling demonstration at Maker Faire 2008 can attest to that. Apparently a group of prototype (1 / 12 scale, no less) coils were seen sparking up the evening in San Mateo, California, but it wasn’t the visual energy or unmistakable hum that caused all that saliva to form in the mouths of onlookers. Oh no, it was the fact that a dozen hot dogs were simultaneously roasted and made ready for safe consumption. Check out a video of the action right after the break.

VIDEO: Nick Heidfeld breaks BMW Sauber F1 car while showing off

Not that BMW’s Sauber F1 car has anything more than three letters in common with cars that bear the propeller logo on public streets, but who’s going to argue with the opportunity to lay down the tools early? Hotshoe Nick Heidfeld recently treated a crowd of laborer’s at BMW’s Munich factory to the spectacle of a big-dollar race car being treated like a hand-me-down Reliant, complete with a body-damaging finale. The shriek of a high-strung F1 racer while it slides around doing lurid donuts is a thing to behold, but the smile quickly fades when the front splitter gets tangled up in the curbing and ripped off the nose. Whoops. Video after the jump - Thanks for the tip, Ovidiu!
