valentines day poems
To My Valentine
It has been far too long
Since I penned my hearts words
And never in history recited you a song
For I’m like a mute coward bird
So tonight I’m giving it all
The phrases I wished you to hear
In this short poem my lines crawl
To show the love to my ever dear
This is the only gift I can offer
For you to have on Valentines Day
I hope you’ll treasure this forever
To our father this I’ll always pray
I bought no bundle of fragrant roses
Nor elegant bar of sweet chocolates
But I gave you my whole love never less
With faith, patience, trust and no hate
I’m seeking for the most romantic line
But none of them is enough to show you
How much you mean to me all the time
And to let you feel how much I really do
So you must know this is for the woman
The most precious valentine of my life
To let you know there is a single man
That long ago wished you to be his wife
